#343715 by exohyunjaegj Fri Nov 03, 2017 6:03 am
Hi to all. I'm a Filipina and I'm currently working in Norway. My visa will be expire soon (next year) . I am seeking for a new job opportunity so I decided to register on the website(http://www.greataupair.com), as a result I found a host family that matches My qualifications. I contacted the host family since he's profile picture is his gmail account, we discussed the job and he give me some information about her daughter. The following are examples of our conversation :
*Note : I changed the name of the employer

Mr. Y(the employer) :
My good friend has been telling me to look for an Au pair who will
help in taking care of my daughter Lyn . So i decided to adhere to
her advice and I Believe it is going to be a wonderful experience, the
period of your stay is not a problem to me, all i want is to testify
this experience and know how it goes. I have informed my family about
this and they very very happy, my family said to me that it is a good
idea and i'm so excited that they are in support of this experience. I
am doing all this just to make my daughter happy because she’s all i
have for now therefore all i want from my new Au pair is to love and
take good care of my daughter , She’s lovely and don't disturb, she’s not
suffering from any kind of sickness, she’s in good health and I am
also in good health too.

I believe with this few description of my family, you have had a
little picture of my family, you will see things by yourself when you
arrived because seeing is believing, i promise you that we will take

you as part of us not only as an Au pair but as my sibling as well and
in the same time i would appreciate if you can love and take good care
of my daughter. Our cook Vivian is the one helping me take care of
"lyn" now but I want to relief her of the duty so she can also
have her free time
Please if you have any question just feel free to ask me, is just that
i'm always busy but i will try my best to attend to you as soon as I can.

Next email of Mr. Y:

Hello ,
How are you doing today, hope you are having a great time?

seriousness to join us as Lyn 's Au pair and you are free to join
us at your convenient time.

Your main duty is to take good care of Lyn , keeping her room
tidy, making her bed, dusting and changing her sheets weekly, you need

Lyn likes visiting the park and most especially have FUN with
her. Lyn will be so excited to have you around and she will

It is a scam.

The UK has very strict regulations for their Aupair programs and do not accept Aupairs from all countries, the Phillipines is not a country that is on the UK list. Anyone telling you they can bring you to the UK to Aupair is a scammer.

United Kingdom

Individuals wanting to be au pairs in the UK who are nationals of countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland have to apply for the Tier 5 (Youth mobility scheme). The Tier 5 scheme is very limited and only nationals of certain countries are eligible, as detailed here https://www.gov.uk/tier-5-youth-mobility . If you are not a national of one of the countries listed then you are not eligible to be an au pair in the UK - there are no exceptions to this rule.

Individuals who are nationals of an EEA country (except Croatians at the time of writing - check the Home Office website for the current limitations) or Switzerland are entitled to freedom of movement throughout the EEA area and do not require visas to work in the UK and do not require proof of funds
