First of all English is not my main language, so I'm sorry for any mistake. I think my mother is/was interested in a Scammer/Catfish, they started talking two months ago, and he was already taking things too fast, saying that he loved and wanted to marry her :yikes: .
They started talking on Instagram, his user name is "jacksonwilson1948"; he then told my mother that he was an American (48 years old) from Texas serving the US Army in Yemen as an orthopedist, that he had daughter and that his wife died of cancer. He and my mother continued on talking by Google Hangouts, with the excuse that he didn't use social media a lot, the email that he used was "[email protected]".
For me he seemed too good to be true, he was very good looking and had a lot of money, at least from what I knew about him at the time.I thought that something was off, so I used a few of his pictures and searched on Google, which lead me to a Plastic Surgeon from Miami (that I won't mention his name or put any pictures because I think he should have his privacy respected). The man in the pictures was the same but the name and the profession were completly different. I confronted him, he first got mad that I searched him and then he said that they were the same person, I called him a liar and silenced his messages.
I told everything to my mom but she kept on talking to him ( ).
A week ago he asked my mother if he could sent a package to were we live, I told my mother not to give him our main address, she did as I told her. The company that he used is called "The Fleet Logistiscs", and they sended her this email:

[email protected]

In the last line there wasn't any type of information, no Date, no Status and no Location, which I found very strange, today my mother got another email by this company:

[email protected]

Dear Esteem Customer,

This is to bring to your notice a new development that requires your
urgent attention. It has been brought to our notice that our Delivery
Diplomat has been stopped at the Customs and Excise Department of the
Istanbul International Airport but was asked for a Yellow
Label/Diplomatic License or a Certification seal to enable the Customs
officials view your goods as a priority case.

Sincerely, we never knew the Turkish government has prioritized this
because the policies has just been laid with no foundation yet in the
United States. We've been made to understand these measure has to be
taken for security purposes as the threat being posed by North Korea and
it's government has made the UN make some necessary changes. Further
more, we've been made to understand you'll have to obtain the said
documents from the United Nation Central Office through their Annex in
Turkey in order for your parcel to be delivered to you safely.

After due consultation and prolong meetings, you've been asked by the
United Nations Central Unit officials at the airport to make the payment
of €8,700.00 (Eight Thousand, Seven Hundred Euros) for the acquisition
of the above named documents. On the hand, we've been told failure to
provide the document will lead to the Customs officials opening the
parcel to know it's content which might not be good for us and you the
owner. So on our part, we'll strongly advice you co-operate with us and
get the payment for the documents remitted so we can get these relevant
documents and proceed to getting our job done.

Please, kindly get in touch with the sender so that you both can get
this resolved in the quickest possible time. And just in case you're
ready to get the documents done, you're advice to contact this office so
we can furnish you with the United Nation Central office account officer
information for the payment to be directly sent to them.

Yours truly,

PAUL MITCHEL
Group Managing Director
The Fleet Logistics Limited

Hi if_1937, welcome to scamwarners.

As maluu53 said, this is a definite scam. The person your mother is in contact with is not a US soldier, he is most likely a young black man living in Africa or the far east who makes his living stealing from women on the internet.

The courier company is fake and there is no packege, the scammer will just try to charge your mother fees for customs clearance etc.

The best thing for your mother to do is totally block the scammer and stop responding to him. Do not accuse him of being a scammer or tell him you posted details here, just disappear and leave him wondering what went wrong.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Hey! This guy is doing the same, he contacted me through Linkedin this time, went to whatsapp and then to Hangout, sent me a few pictures "of him" which are similar to the one shown here I looked them in google too and I found these pics are being used for several pofiles with different names..he uses Bratt Mackel. Is there any way to let this guy know that his picture is being used for this type of things? not sure who he is. I imagined something was not right when he started being more sweet than usual after a few talks and when I asked him to have face time call, he tried and put a video of this guy in the Hospital, so is scary.
