Hello again,

The price of £480 is for the whole flat because I am loking for a responsable tenant more than getting money from rent! We could sign the tenancy agreement Saturday! I am a looking for a responsable couple of professional tenants or mature students, who could take care of the flat more than getting money from rent because I have had some students as tenants who damaged the furniture but you see these is due to previous predicament that I have gone through in the past trying to rent the property to some students,I have got to realize so many people are not really in need of an apartment all they do is secure a place in advance, My last experience in trying to rent the property to a particular lady had got me to predicate on these, she made me believe she was willing and ready to get the apartment she even went to the extend of showing me her statement of account, which made me took her for the viewing but after taking her for the viewing, she saw the apartment and got to love it and never wanted to loose it,so she kept pleading i retain it for her because she is not financially composed at the moment, which i did but end up disastrously.
So basically for me to be sure of you been willing and ready to get the apartment I will employ you walk into any Post office, look after a Money gram agent and send the total bill cash £1460(two months rent and one month refundable deposit) to your partener`s name(NOT to ME),or your partener should send it to you with location of Southampton,All I need is for you to get back to me with the receipt issued to you after making the transaction so I can confirm it! When we will meet in person to sign the papers we will go together to Money Gram and you or your partner will withdraw the cash and pay me in hand or you can pay me on Monday by bank transfer! I just need to see that you do have the money available and you do have serious intentions in renting the flat! If the Money Gram agent will ask you about the receiver you should tell him that is your cousin because the transfer fees will be cheaper! Anyway I will pay for it either you take the flat or not! I will book the flight for Saturday as soon as I have your positive answer because I can come only in weekends!
I do apologise for that but as I told you last time when I arrived to Southampton to show the flat to a person everything was a stupid joke and I hope you understand me because I don`t want to waste my time and money on plane tickets..
Regards

Hi.

I already told you what happened to me with that lady who showed me her online bank statement and after I met her she told me that she loves the flat but has no money and I should wait her to get it so the bank statement won`t be enough!
Please note that I didn t asked for any kind of advance payment and the main reason I asked you that is the fact that I can come only in weekend when the banks are closed and some Money Gram agents are open 24hours! I will try to come this weekend if you could make the Money Gram transaction tommorrow morning so I could have time to buy the flight ticket! If you can t, we will meet next weekend!!
Its simple! You could find a Money Gram agency at any Post office in your area! You just have to go to the Money Gram agency with your ID and the cash ready, fill a paper with your name(sender) and the receiver name( the person who will cash out the money you sent when we will meet)! There s no need for the person who will cash out the money to be present when you will go to the Money gram agency and I think that the fees for this money transfer will be cheaper if you send the money to a family member that s why I told you to tell the agent that the receiver is your cousin!
As soon as you made this transaction you will get the receipt and only the sender and the receiver have the right to cash out the money using their ID when you will do that-in fact on Saturday as soon as we sign the tenancy agreement! In this way I am sure you will have the money available in cash at the moment when we will meet on Saturday when the banks are closed and some Money Gram agencyes are open and you have the assurance that I will keep the flat reserved for you! Please send me some close up pictures of the receipt as soon as you made the transaction and have the receipt so I could buy the flight ticket in time!
I am very sorry if you cannot accept my terms and I wish you luck in finding a flat but I hope you could understand me that I can t risk come again without haveing any kind of assurance that I will meet someone who really need a home!
Best regards

The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".

Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you

He will ask you to send him the transfer details.

Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
