As a minister I have been contacted twice (so far) by text about performing a wedding. I live on Cape Cod so doing ceremonies for strangers is normal. Also, lots of slavic students work here fro whom I have done a wedding or two, so despite the stilted syntax it was plausible. But the tells are that the writer says:
1) a friend will be paying my fees.
2) he will send me a check.
3) the first ceremony date is postponed for some family emergency.
4) the generous friend inadvertently puts the videographer's fee (which would be 3 times my fee) in my check, so would I...
5) deposit the check and send said videographer money from my account.

The first time it took me to this point to catch on it was a scam. The second time I recognized it pretty quickly and challenged him on it. So I didn't hear back from him again. So far it has not happened by email.
