Sextortion/Blackmail Scams Targeting Minors.

In the recent years scammers have made fake social profiles to lure minors into exposing themselves. Then the scammer would demand more photo’s/videos or they would post them on a public site or send them to their facebook friends. In some cases, the scammer has demand money.

Facebook and most public sites will delete the post. The scammer may send a screenshot, but that is all it is, a screenshot and not real post on a social media site.

If you are a victim of this crime. It is important to not give into their demands. Talk with your parents, school counselor, teacher, school police officer/sheriff or your local law enforcement victim support personnel. Then direct them to this post.

If you give the extortionist what they ask for one time. The demands and threats will never stop.
