Fake banks, couriers, law firms, escrow and other fake sites used in scams.

Necro'd an old post just to say that all sites associated with the original fake now appear to be dead.

There turned out to be quite a nest of fake sites, some not easy to kill, but the dedication of one of the site killers finally paid off.

If Patrick reads this, Ralph's "rule of thumb" of two weeks to kill a site is just that, a rule of thumb. It all depends on how co-operative the hoster and registrar are, the type of site and the evidence of fraud.

In this case, the sites weren't easy and it has required a lot of hard work and multiple reports by the killer concerned.

But persistence pays off (in most cases).

Kudos to the site-killer concerned. :=)

Probably on a PC.

Thank you, George. :D

To Patrick and anyone else frustrated when a fraudulent site takes a long time to kill, believe me, your frustration is felt by the site killers. Be assured, if you have posted the information here and it has been investigated and determined to be a fake site and has been entered into AA419's database (located here: Clicky, there is a site killer (or several!) working hard to try and kill it.

Some hosters and registrars of fake sites are very cooperative. Others need a bit (or a lot) of persuading and evidence. But site killers, like the all the volunteers on ScamWarners/419Eater/AA419 take it seriously and work very hard to prevent innocent people from becoming victims of these horrible scams.

We do our best. :D
