I have been online chatting with a guy who sent me four pics. In his profile of the site I met him on there was no military mention or pic , it wasn't until later he sent me that one. I found on of the four pics on this site and the profile pic from the site I met him on on another site. What if my guy is the real guy and someone else is using his pics? I don't want to spook him off in case he is the scammer and I can get more info for this site.

I have asked for more pics but he says he can't locate them on his computer there just yet. However he is hoping to come here next week for 15 days so I can't stall forever without raising suspicion.

On here there are two pics, I have one of the two.

On both sites there are different names used for this same guy.

So far I don't have reason to disbelieve what he has told me but I need to be sure and because of security where he is he may or may not be telling me the truth and can not give me detailed info.

He is supposed to be granted leave and has connected me with a travel agent that other soldiers supposedly used whom I am also checking out so that I can pay for his ticket which he will pay me back. I am not going to pay for anything but he doesn't know that. I am trying to get more info.

How can I handle this as to not tip him off if he is the scammer and if he is the real guy then he needs to know about this eventually.

Hi EMC, Welcome to the site. Even from the limited information you posted, there is no way that the person you have been communicating with is the "real" person. Travel arrangement and leave time is all taken care of by the military. You have been talking to a scammer and he is trying to get your money.

Stop all communication with him right away and look out for other suspicious emails coming into your mail box. Do not confront him. It is better to just post up his assumed name and email address, copies of any emails you have received, any telephone numbers or other identifying information he has given you. This might help to prevent somebody else from falling victim to a scammer using the same assumed identity.

If you don't want to post the information yourself, please feel free to send it to me via PM and I'll post it up for you.

the email he is using is [email protected] I have pics too but I don't know how to post them. I told him tonight that I can not get the money he will have to figure out another way so he can come to me here to see what he says and he just basically said forget it and signed off of chat. I knew that would happen . On facebook the one pic of him in the dress shirt is under the name James Haggard. This Michael I have been chatting with would never give me any answers to my questions like date of birth, MOS, ect. I was trying to pull as much info as possible. I don't think I will ever hear from him again, if I do I will be very surprised.

thank you for your reply.
