Hello Lab592010 and welcome to ScamWarners.

Please do post examples of the emails that he has sent you (particularly the earlier ones, as these are likely to be scripted) and also the header's of the email. If you can also post the photos he sent, we can look and see if they have been used elsewhere.

It is possible that this person is actually in Malaysia, as there are scammers located there and it is possible that he is of African descent, which would be why the voice doesn't match the photos.

You can find out how to upload photos here http://scamwarners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3219

I did a search on sentences from the email that he sent you, but there were no matches. There are however a dfew minor lingustic signs in the email that would indicate that the email was written by an African rather than a native English speaker.

Thanks for your comment. Based on what you did or didn't find do you believe he is a scammer?

I would be 99% certain that he is a scammer, based on the language that he uses and some of the things that he says.

Here are the photos that this scammer uses

EDIT: Photos removed at the request of the OP, as she now believes the person she has been communicating with to be genuine.

Welcome Lab592010,

I'm glad you recognized this scammer before losing any money to him. Just to reiterate: between the language and the storyline, there is absolutely no doubt this is an African scammer. There is actually a large cell of African romance scammers operating in Malaysia - they take advantage of very lenient student visa requirements, and his English definitely says he is African.

If he persists in calling, you might want to check with your phone provider, and see if they can block his number(s) (or all Malaysian numbers if you have no other contacts in the country.)
