Another scam started with asking if the item is for sale, but this time asked if he could stop by to check it out. When I responded yes and my availbaility, here is what he sent:
Hello,
Thanks so much for writing back but I'm sorry i won't be able to come see it anymore,am traveling tomorrow morning, I had plans to check it out, but that got changed. I still want it anyway, getting it for my cousin as a surprise gift. If you could sell it to me when I get to my destination, I will mail you a USPS Money Order to cover the cost and also add funds to cover the shipping to where it will be needed.
I'll arrange for a shipper/mover to handle the pick up and delivery so it doesn't stress you. I really need this, quite important and urgent. I will be more than glad if it can be sold to me. Email me back with a name, address and your phone number for the check, write back soon. Thank you once again. I will be waiting to hear from you.
Regards

A little more variety than the usual, but still completely phony!

Thank you for posting this one. As you said, it is the same old scam, though the scammer tries to make himself legitimate by pretending he can see it in person before his fake emergency.

Same guy just tried to get my address for a craigslist ad!

** UPDATE **

I received the EXACT same email from the exact same email address on a refrigerator I was selling. So I thought I'd play the game with this guy and gave him a PO BOX that we use for some mail at our office. Low and behold, a USPS Money Order shows up today just like the emails said!

The guy gets a check from a Post Office in Indiana and mailed it to me from Alberta Canada. WEIRD!
