Scammer reply to ad posted to BuySell.com

Postby carseller on Wed Nov 03, 2010 1:05 pm

I received a scammer email via BuySell.com. The email headers are not useful because the message is relayed through BuySell. No telephone number was given. All the standard red flags are there, including spelling, punctuation, and grammar, with the bonus red flag that they sent the same message for 3 very diffent cars.

Name: Andrew Smith
Email: vcljfhjfdg@gmail.com
Phone:
Question: Hi i will like to know if the item listed is still available for sales??

carseller,
All I can see is the first line beside question. sales might just be a typo. If the same guy
answered 3 ads he might just be a used car reseller. I would want his phone # and address
before I went any further. :)

Carseller identified this as a scam for a reason, and it's not the use of the word "sales."

There is no doubt that this is a standard scam response. I don't want to educate scammers on their mistakes, so I won't explain further here.
