I received a call from them a few days ago, and it sounded great so I paid the $495. The man i spoke with said i'd be receiving my packet in the mail within 7-10 business days. Today I received a call from a partner company (can't recall their name at the moment) explaining how things really work. From what I've gathered, they buy leads (small business owner's information, it's targeted marketing) from big banks, that are qualified to receive a loan, but get denied due to the economy and banks not wanting to give out loans. From there, they contact those businesses within a week and offer to match the loan interest free. The "catch" for the business is, they also have to sign into a 5 year contract to use UMT (Universal Marketing + Training) to handle their credit card transactions. You also get 200-500$ per MONTH per business that signs up (averaging from the businesses credit card transactions per month), and a 3% return on the cash advances the business takes out. You also get $500 for each credit card terminal UMT replaces at the business' store once the business agrees. This all sounds great, however they want $10,000 from me to buy 1,000 leads. They stated that out of those 1k calls, approx 30 businesses will apply thru them for the loan they couldn't get from the bank, and out of those 30 businesses, UMT will have a 80% close rate (meaning 24). If you do the math with the numbers I was given (which the Agent said was on the low end of the deal, because she didn't want to promise me anything unrealistic) that would mean that I would need 10 of those businesses to at least borrow $50,000 (which she also stated was about the average loan they deal with) to make my money back off the cash advances alone. I'm not sure where I stand yet, the information I was given seems very legit, I just don't know if I want to part with 10 grand to find out if it's real. Judging from my research on the web so far, it seems no one except myself has even made it this far yet (or hasn't posted about it) so I would love to hear from someone who is beyond this point, to let me know if it's a scam or not.
