My husband and I have been looking for a place to live in South beach Florida.
We ran into this post on craigs list about a a nice apartment on the beach.
We finally found out it was a scam thanks to this website before we sent money to them.
this is how the replied email looked like.
Hello Brenda,
Thank you for replying to my listing for this great apartment located in South Beach. The mentioned apartment is a one bedroom apartment and it's fully furnished as it can be your second home. Everything you need for your stay is in the apartment including new towels all you need to bring is your personal belongings.
The total rent for 6 months: 6 x $1300 = $7800. To reserve this home, you will have to pay an up-front payment of the first month rent which is $1300 plus a refundable security damage deposit of $200 and a cleaning and tax fee which is altogether $1500.

We Even set up an appointment to meet with them but we got lucky and had to reschedule.
They ask for a western union wire transfer to "reserve the apartment"
The phone #s arent legit.
Please be aware of these kinds of scams!
I am just shocked at how all this worked out, and there really are people out there doing this !
We decided to ignore after we realize it was a scam. I am glad we didnt make any type of payments and i feel horrible for people that did.
