I recieved this same email. When I replied to them, with my electronic signature was my work address, work phone number. A man called me twice today at work!

I replied and let him know I had contacted my attorney about the adoption. I advised my attorney said this is a scam. Afraid of what other information they have and the adverse effects.

He is on the phone again. He is trying to convince me to send money for the adoption.

Just remind yourself of the reality of the situation:
1) The man on the phone is a young African thief, not in any way involved with arranging real adoptions. In reality, his name is not even Jon Carlos.
2) There is no child up for adoption. If the scammer sent you photos, they are nothing more than stolen pictures taken off the internet--likely from the real family's website, photo-sharing page, or social networking page.
3) Any money this thief receives will most likely be used to buy electronics, jewelry, cars, and other "luxury" items.

Then just cut this scammer off completely. If he calls, either don't answer, or hang up. Filter his emails to trash.

Be prepared for the fact that you have now been identified as a good target for adoption scams. As a result, it is very likely that you will receive more bogus offers for adoption. If you really are looking to adopt, make sure you are indeed working with a reputable attorney and/or organization, and that you have thoroughly checked out any offers you receive.

This is typical scammer behaviour when confronted as being a scammer - deny everything and try and continue with the scam. It is one of the reasons why we recommend not confronting the scammer and just cutting off communication with him. As Dotti said, just filter his emails to trash (you may even be able to block them totally depending on your email provider) and ignore his phone calls.

Scammers lie for a living, so continuing to communicate with him will just bring you more lies.

It is impossible for the same husband to die twice one month apart. It is impossible to send mail from Nigeria while being in Benin.

Yetunde Owolabi and John Kalu are characters being play-acted by the same scammer. Do not believe a word either of them says. Do not give them your real-life name, email address, postal address, or phone number. If you have, cease all contact. Do not send money to them. Do not send any money to anyone you have never met by Western Union or MoneyGram.

Do not travel to attempt to meet Owolabi or Kalu. If you do, you may be robbed, kidnapped, murdered, or worse.

She searched the Web for pictures of three plates and found no babies, then searched for twins and found some. She has no real babies for adoption. She is lying, she is a scammer, she is a thief.
