Hello dragonmast5, and welcome to ScamWarners.

The profile at Find Au Pair, shows no typical signs of a scam, and their IP address at Find Au Pair is consistent with their location.

You will need to check that you are writing to the person who created that profile, however, and not to a scammer who is pretending to be that person. Maybe you can PM them at the Find Au Pair website?

If you know that you are corresponding with the real family, you will, of course, still want to proceed with all the normal cautions, and check that this is a family that you feel comfortable with. And, of course, never ever send any money on the instruction of any host family or on the instruction of anyone that they put you in contact with.

Please also check the procedure and regulations about becoming an au pair in China, by contacting the Chinese Embassy in your own country.

You were correct to include all details about this family in your post, as this was useful to enable research. But as there is no confirmation at the moment that this is a scam, I will now remove the family's personal/profile details, to protect their privacy.

Qingdao AuPair Cultural Exchange - with the email address aupair.cn.org@gmail.com - appears to be a genuine au pair agency. They state in their email above:

we are the member of IAPA

but I've been unable to confirm this. I can't find them on the list of IAPA (International Au Pair Association) members here:

http://www.iapa.org/members/member-list/

For general information, you can read a guide to becoming an au pair in China here:

http://www.wikihow.com/Become-an-Au-Pair-in-China

and the Chinese Embassy in your country will be able to give you up-to-date details about requirements.
