Scammers send fake passports, driver's licenses, and ID cards to "prove" their identity. With AI tools, these fakes are getting more convincing.
How to spot fake documents:
• Photos look edited or AI-generated (check eyes, ears, hairline)
• Fonts don't match official documents
• Wrong format for the country claimed
• Passport numbers don't follow correct patterns
• Holograms and security features missing or obviously fake
Common fake documents in 2026:
• US/UK passports with stolen or AI-generated photos
• Military ID cards (real ones are rarely photographed)
• UN/diplomat credentials (these are NEVER sent to strangers)
• Bank statements and "proof of funds"
Remember: A real person proving their identity would VIDEO CALL you - not send document photos. Anyone refusing video chat while sending ID scans is a scammer.

Here are just a few examples of fake passports that you may be sent. On many of them if you look closely (or not so closely) you can see obvious signs of tampering.
