SMS scams are becoming more common

Scammers will always adapt their methods in an attempt to catch out as many people as possible, recently there seems to be a large move towards sending their scam formats by SMS hoping to trap people into believing they are legitimate.

Here is an example;

This is to confirm your cell has won US $5.8M for FIFA 2010 international award. To claim contact Mrs A Martins via [email protected]

Please remember, whether you are contacted by email, phone, SMS or by post, any offer suggesting you have a large amount of money waiting for you will be a scam.

Do not reply to any messages of this nature.
