hi my name is Rosalind i was just recently scammed i think ...i dont know what is real ...i sent an amount of 300.00 last week on thursday ...he promised me he would be here and spend 3 months with me and my daughter ...i met him 3 months ago said that i had too pay and request for his leave myself and i believed him ..im not sure if this is real or fake i just thought today i would google search if military have too pay for request for leave ....cause today right now he is asking me for 200.00 more for medical insurance to come across he says he is in india that he was moved from afganistan ...please help me how do i get help and legal advice too regain my money back ..or is it gone? ..is there anything i can do? .. his email address is jason.lewis35@yahoo.com and i even got photos of him ...ive been reading all the posts on here and this is breaking my heart im so stupid for believing it!!!

I am sooo sorry you have had this experience. I know how you are feeling but never ever feel stupid for being a kind, caring and compassionate person. There are a lot of people out there willing to say whatever they need to to make a quick buck and they don't care who they hurt in the process. I have met a couple and since doing more research on this site and others like it am now a lot more cynical about who is out there...maybe a little too much so.
Just remember you are a kind, caring and compassionate person, who was willing to sacrifice to help another human being...Take care of yourself

Welcome to scamwarners. I'm sorry to say that there is no doubt this is a scam.
People in the military do not pay for leave. People from outside the military cannot request leave for people in the military.

Unfortunately, you don't even have pictures of the person talking to you. The person who has been in contact with you is a young black man from Africa. He is not the person in the photos, and he has never even met the person in the photos. He simply found photos of a real soldier and copied them.

Your money is gone. The scammer has not given you any of his real information. He collected the cash, and he has left no real trace of his identity. Your government can't get your money back because he is in another country, and unless you lost hundreds of thousands of dollars, chances of an international investigation happening are pretty much zero.

Well, I've just discovered I've been had too! I've fallen in love with a damned scammer!!!!

He goes under Snr Captain Robert Jenkins Hernandez based in Afghanistan and is the head of the nursing department!!

He has a 22 year old daughter called Tesla who has a 9 month old baby. His wife died in a motor vehicle accident 2 years ago (she also played up on him - which their pastor fixed)!!

I've just had paperwork sent to me after I emailed the General on specialmilitarysatelliteunit@gmail.com - I should have noticed the email address!! I poured my heart out to the General and he was giving Bob Vocational Leave (also because Bob had saved his life)! I didn't send any money and only because I told my girlfriend and she woke me up (after Bob told me not to tell anyone). The money was for the Afghanistan Tax!

I've even emailed Tesla and had replies - funny that!! I also was given a phone number for Tesla - funny how there was never ever any answer!

I feel so stupid and embarassed about all of this. I even have photos of him - who know's who they really are of - I feel for the real person who's photos they are!

I've just had a breakdown after a nasty divorce and DID NOT need this on top of it! How dare these people do this to us. I'm more than happy to post the emails (so many of them) and photos but not sure where to do this.

Hi i am a British Lady who has been talking to a Captain in the Us Military.
He said he was based near leicester then transferred to Nigeria where he is now.
He has aked me to apply for Military leave for him and the form looks very basic and looks as though they have used word art and unofficial.I have never seen one before so i dont know whether it is real or not.
Can any one help me,he says he loves me and his daughter cant wait to meet me as well . I have spoken to him on the phone but his voice doesnt seem to match his looks .

I live in UK Deborah and ex services and assure you this is a 100% scam. Your person is from Nigeria and is a liar in an internet cafe. Have you links to a profile page it has , and also to post the forgeries on here? Email headers and the emails too and also email addresses. There are currently no US military forces serving in Nigeria. Service persons can't just get a relative or friend to apply for leave for them, as it suits . Leave is granted when it is decided, although a soldier could arrange this well in advance if he had family matters he would like to attend, and it would be still be in line with his operational requirements.

I felt like a complete idiot until I have read some of the replys on here. I believe I was recently scammed. I meant someone off of singlesnet.com and we started chatting on yahoo messenger, his user name was sandboxguy80, SGT Henry Bolivar. He said he was in Kubal, Afganistan. His emails and our chats made me fall in love instantly and made me think it was my fairy tale come true. After a few emails he said he wanted to hear my voice and I could apply for a NATO SAT phone, I researched them and everything seemed real, so I did. He called a few times but reception was terrible and he wrote an email stating it was because where he was located.
He just recently asked me to apply for leave for him to come and visit me, he sent me a copy of a "next of kin" form that he said he filled out to have me on as his fiancee. I was falling hard. He talked about his daughter whom he missed, his mom who was sick, and several other things that were so convincing. I applied for the leave last Friday and told him I did not have the money for transit. He said that he was going to have a friend send me the money. Today in the mail I recieved a check via federal express for $2700.00. It was a cashiers check from a bank called Englewood in Flordia. I went to cash the check so I could pay for the leave, turns out the check was a fake check. I immediately called the state police and explained everything and showed them everything. Sadly they said there was nothing I could do because there are to many shadows to link one person to the scam.
I have been crying all day and wish there was a way to inform people so that others don't lose out to. All the emails that I was given from him ended in "mail2army.com" and I hope this post prevents someone else for making the same mistake I did.

I am glad you escaped sad1forppl. You could have cashed the cheque and forwarded your own money as a result, only to discover the truth later. Well now you know that all requests for mony transfers over internet are scams as well as accepting anything. Don't do it ! Leave requests and such are totally fake as is frequently said. Soldiers get what they are given, unless genuine family matters arise, and they can ask. Nobody else can do so for them and it costs no money.

I to was almost taken in by a scammer. But having been married before to real US military men red flags went off when "SPC Justin Hatfield" said that he had fallen in love with me and wanted to be with me. He wanted to be with me and if I would send a leave request (first flag) to his commandant (second flag) which he changed to commander, we could be together to start planning for our future together. I went along with him and mailed "leave request" to his commander. I recieved and email back with attachments. When I opened the attachments they were supposed to be official army documents. At the very first glance you could tell that they were false. All military documents..........the real thing that is will have a DD (Department of Defense) number on them. And the number corresponds with which type of documents they are and for what purpose. I know this first hand as I used to use many such when I worked for government myself. Verified this with my brother-in-law who is retired Chief Master Sergent. Only service members can request leave and there are no "administration fees" that have to be paid for such leave. So ladies Please, Please don't fall for these guys and be very suspicious no matter what.
They will never tell you anything about themselves or very little if any. will never answer your questions when you do ask or skirt around it.

I've been writing to a man in the Army. Some of what is being said herein sounds familiar. I don't want to think a scam is going on. Hence my questions herein. The person is in the Army stationed in Iraq. He writes to me with a yahoo.com email address. I checked the IP address. Just because an IP address is located in Sunnyvale, CA does this mean the person is a scam artist? Yahoo is headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA.

I even looked up my IP address. I live in FL. The location of my IP address is in MD.

However, I was asked to write to a Lt General to grant permission for this person to come for a visit. I did as such this AM prior to finding ScramWarners. I looked up the Lt General on google.com. The name of the Lt General is authentic and his area of service. Nonetheless, I also needed to send a request for visit to a <usarmydefensetransit@mail2army.com> email address. The email I sent to this address came back undeliverable. This is when I put the email address in google and came upon Scam Warners.

Please advise accordingly.
