A company called terrycarwrap attempted to scam me. Today I received a check from 2,557.89 I was told that I "MUST" cash it at "MY" bank. and follow instructions to mail the fee to the person that was going to put the car advert on my car.. Some guy that calls himself Rev Terry Owens (he s going to hell for using REV by the way), Called me from Phone number 707 681 6304. and asked me did I receive the following email that he sent me this AM>......Dear Michelle,
This email is to let you know that your pay check has been sent to your address via Fedex and it will be delivered to your address today. As soon as you confirm the delivery of the check; it should be taken to your bank to cash, After check has cleard at your bank, Deduct $200 which is your up front payment for one week and send the balance of the funds to the specialist who will be responsible for the advert placement on your car. He Is Currently In Oregon Trying to Get The Materials Needed for The Advert Placement On Your Car,send the balance via western union.

Send the balance after deducting your salary and western union charges to the information below:

Get back to me with the MTCN NUMBER and the exact amount to be received after all charges has been deducted. The specialist shall contact you as soon as he receives the funds.

A swift acknowledgment of the receipt of this email will be appreciated

****ATTENTION ALL**** If you get this email or phone call from someone calling themselves a REV (Terry Owens) please DO NOT fall for it, I called the Credit Union that was on the check (Suncoast Federal Credit Union in Tampa Fla) the Credit Union is Legit however, the credit Union representative told me that the check was FRAUDALENT!.... There may be car wrap companies our there that are legit but PLEASE do your home work and trust me when I tell you the Terrys Car Wrap is NOT one of them (that s legit)...

I'm happy to see that you didn't lose any money to the scammer using the name "Rev Terry Owens".

The "car wrap" scam has actually been around a couple of years, but is definitely one of the African scammers' more unusual scam approaches. You can see that the scammer who approached you has been active lately:
